After not broadcasting the friendly match against Morocco, in March, Globo signed a new agreement with the CBF and will have exclusivity in the transmission of the selection’s friendlies, as well as the games of the World Cup Qualifiers in which Brazil is the host.
As announced by both parties this Tuesday (30), the contract expires in 2026 and is already valid for the friendlies against Guinea, in Barcelona, and Senegal, in Lisbon, on the 17th and 20th of June.
“We are happy to continue with this partnership, which is a partnership that the fans already know and that has existed for many years. Without a doubt, it is an important step in our purpose of bringing the Selection closer to the fans”, commented Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the CBF .
The agreement to resume the years-long partnership includes the right to broadcast matches on all of Grupo Globo’s sports-oriented platforms. In addition to TV Globo, therefore, the national team can have their games shown on SporTV, on Globoplay streaming and on the GE portal.
“With the broadcasts on different platforms, we were also able to take the emotion of our football to all corners of the country, reaching the greatest possible number of fans. As president of the CBF, I feel proud to celebrate another excellent contract at the height of the Selection that is the biggest winner in the world and deserves all our recognition and appreciation”, said Rodrigues.
Globo’s previous contract with CBF ended in December of last year and the entity closed a one-off agreement with TV Band for the transmission of Brazil x Morocco, in March. At the time, he also ceded the rights to Canal GB, Galvão Bueno’s YouTube page, and to ESPN. After that, negotiations with Globo resumed.
