Gil Rocha went off the air way too soon

When we lose a friend or loved one we are naturally shocked. Even more so when that person is relatively young to die, as human beings have greatly increased their life expectancy in recent decades.
Even more painful when we live with that person on a daily basis, in the case of Gil Rocha through the sports programs on Radio CBN Curitiba. Even though we only talked on the air over the phone, we had a great deal of intimacy alongside Ayrton Baptista Junior, the sweet Tusca, with his culture and creativity above the radio average.
What programs the three of us did. Simply unforgettable, with high ratings and support from major sponsors who recognized the commercial return on schedule.
Suddenly, we lost Gil Rocha, the presenter who intelligently pulled the strings to provoke me and Tusca to leave the commonplace, the drowsy trivia and create true treatises of inspiration and good humor around our sacred football every day.
We promise to maintain the level, even with this significant absence. Gil Rocha left the air long before time. It was a shock for all of his companions, his family, the journalism team of the victorious station and, above all, for the thousands of listeners.
I keep imagining how our heart must be when the great moment arrives – fatal, unique, definitive, the last ellipsis – of the inexorable end of life.
Even deeply saddened, I believe that we say goodbye to life in a delicate, silent way, grateful for everything we experience, with unspoken words and hidden feelings.
It is the transitory and the fleeting in this existence of ours that is absolutely overwhelming for everything that happens until the last breath.
With fair and kind tributes paid to the fraternal Gil Rocha, we had a top quality football spectacle at the Ligga Arena.
Athletico and Palmeiras toasted the public with one of the best and busiest matches of the Brasileirão. The millionaire Palmeiras team was superior most of the time, opened 2-0 on the scoreboard and wasted a maximum penalty but suffered the Atletica load in the second half.
O draw was absolutely fair and rewarded the efforts of Wesley Carvalho’s men with goals from Vitor Bueno and Vitor Roque.
