Manaus (AM) — Former federal deputy Bosco Saraiva will assume, next week, the command of the Superintendence of the Free Zone of Manaus (Suframa). The definition of the command of Suframa took place, on Thursday (6), during a meeting with the vice president and minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), Geraldo Alckimin, where the politician accepted the invitation. The deputies of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam) had already expressed, two months ago, support for Bosco’s name for the position of superintendent.

According to the former federal deputy, the appointment should come out next week in the Official Gazette.

“I was on an official agenda in the vice presidency with the vice president and minister of the MDIC [Geraldo Alckimin]. He invited me to take over Suframa. I accepted and we immediately started a working meeting. Also present was Dr. Marcio Rosa, executive director of the MDIC. Appointment should take place next week”,

said Bosco Saraiva to EM TEMPO.

Since General Algacir Polsin asked for his resignation, at the end of 2022, Suframa has been commanded by interim officers. The command is currently with career employee Marcelo Pereira. In a note, Suframa highlighted that, until confirmation of Saraiva’s appointment, the title remains under the command of the career civil servant.

“Suframa continues to be managed by the interim superintendent Marcelo Pereira and the decision regarding the appointment of the effective holder of the position rests with the Minister of the MDIC and Vice President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin. If the appointment of former federal deputy Bosco Saraiva is confirmed, interim superintendent Marcelo Pereira, who is a career civil servant at the Autarchy, will be available to make the management transition and pass command”,
