General killed the nocturnal charade of January 8 – 04/22/2023 – Elio Gaspari

January 8 had two critical moments. One, diurnal, happened with the invasions. The other, nocturnal, was enveloped in mist. It happened when the country, surprised, saw that an Army troop stopped Police vehicles from Brasilia that intended to dismantle the camp set up in front of the Army HQ, where people were asking for a coup.

For more than three months it was believed that an arm wrestling had taken place, with generals challenging the government. The military commander of Planalto, Gustavo Henrique Dutra de Menezes, came out of his silence and revealed that, that night, he spoke by telephone with Lula, explaining to him the risk of a night operation. They agreed that the camp would be dismantled the next morning and so it was done.

The idea that the Army had driven out the PM injected unnecessary tension into that charged environment. What could have been lemonade turned into a lemon.

941 in transition

Victorious at the polls, Lula mobilized a team of 941 people, divided into 31 thematic groups that dealt with 217 subjects: 5 people took care of the Defense area, 40 of Justice and Public Security.

As far as is known, no civil or military servants of the mid-level Institutional Security Office have been replaced.

The major who, on January 8, literally refreshed an invader by passing him a bottle of water, was responsible for the security of the palace that Sunday.

Risk in the agro

The MST invasions, as well as the presence of its leader João Pedro Stedile in Lula’s entourage on the trip to China, weakened the agribusiness band that opposes Bolsonarist agrotroglodytes.

Madame Natasha

Madame Natasha loves a CPI, but fears that the Commission of Inquiry on January 8th will damage her nerves, bringing back the ubiquitous word “narrative”, to designate what can be called version, understanding and, sometimes, opinion .

A Bolsonarist saying that Lula tolerated the coup plans and actions would not be presenting a narrative, but just giving his opinion or, perhaps, his version.
