Pizza, jazz and warmth: these three words define the proposal of Gattofiga, a pizzeria with a bistro atmosphere that hosts small shows in an intimate and very welcoming environment. The decor is inspired by southern Italy, more precisely the Amalfi Coast, and the room is dotted with art objects and lots of plants.

The restaurant, opened in the Mirandópolis neighborhood in 2019 by partners Cida Montagner, Edson Leite and David Mores, serves pizzas with natural fermentation dough that are baked for up to 90 seconds in an Izzo Italian electric oven, resulting in light and tasty rounds. Inspired by traditional Neapolitan pizzas, they use artisanal ingredients and Italian products in their preparation.

Start the night with rosemary or parmesan crostini (R$ 23 each): very thin and crispy pizza dough, perfect to accompany a drink or a glass of wine. For a heartier starter, go for the Parma e Pomodori, a crispy pastry topped with tomato confit, ham, fior di latte and pesto (R$57) or Rotoletas di formagio (R$36), pizza dough rolled with gorgonzola cheese sweethalf cure, parmesan and oregano.

Among the pizzas, with 30 cm discs, the Catarina (R$ 76) with tomato sauce, Blumenau sausage, fior di latte and basil; and D’uovo, with mascarpone topping, Parma, red onion, breaded grana and an egg with a soft yolk (R$ 81). The pizzas have a version piccola20 cm in diameter.

In addition to pizzas, the house also offers classic and signature drinks, wines and Italian desserts such as cream cannoli and one filled with Nutella (R$ 19 each), tiramisu (R$ 37) and panna cotta with red fruit syrup (R$37). Another good suggestion is stick latte which features pizza dough baked with powdered sugar and cinnamon and arrives accompanied by a small pot of artisanal dulce de leche (R$32).

Musical performances take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays, always from 7pm to 10pm, with lots of jazz, bossa nova and classical MPB. And if you left to celebrate Valentine’s Day this weekend, this is your tip. Or write down the address for Valentine’s Day. Jazz, candlelight and good food in a romantic atmosphere like few others in the city.
