Gasoline price rises and exceeds R$6 in Manaus

Some gas stations have set an increase of more than 8%
Manaus (AM) – Fuel prices rose again in Manaus. According to the weekly survey, released by the State Consumer Protection and Guidance Program of the state of Amazonas (Procon-AM), a liter of gasoline that was being sold for R$5.99 in some neighborhoods in the capital of Amazonas, started to be sold for R$6.49, an increase of more than 8% in just one week.
The average price of gasoline is currently R$5.97 in 61 neighborhoods in the capital of Amazonas. Procon-AM carries out price surveys at gas stations in Manaus every week. The research aims to emphasize the protection of consumers’ interests regarding the price and offers of products and services, as provided for in Law No. 8,078/90 (Consumer Defense Code – CDC) in its articles. 4th and 6th, items II and III.
Furthermore, the action aims to encourage the promotion of free competition and curb practices that violate the economic order in the market, such as price cartels. It is also possible to check the price of fuel on the Search Price platform, run by the State Department of Finance of Amazonas (Sefaz-AM), and the price sold in each of them.

Ethanol was the fuel that suffered a significant increase in the same period, obtaining an adjustment compared to the value sold last week. Previously it was sold for up to R$3.74 at some gas stations in the city, now consumers can find it for at least R$4.55 and up to R$4.79. The average price of ethanol became R$4.48 in 61 neighborhoods in the capital of Amazonas.
