Petrobras announced this Thursday (19) that it will reduce its average selling price of gasoline A to distributors by R$0.12 per liter, which will now be R$2.81 per liter, a value that represents a drop 4% compared to the previous price. Diesel A will have an increase of R$0.25 per liter, an increase of 6.6%. The adjustments will take effect from this Saturday (21).
“Considering the mandatory mixture of 88% diesel A and 12% biodiesel for the composition of diesel sold at gas stations, Petrobras’ share of the consumer price will be, on average, R$ 3.56 for each liter sold at the pump” , said the state-owned company, in a note. According to the company, the year-to-date variation in the sales prices of both gasoline A and diesel A from Petrobras to distributors has accumulated a reduction. “In the case of gasoline, a reduction of R$0.27 per liter per year. While in diesel, the accumulated reduction is R$0.44 per liter in the year”, says the statement.
“For gasoline, the end of the seasonal period of greater global demand means greater availability and devaluation of the product compared to oil. On the other hand, for diesel, there is a sustained global demand, with the expectation of a seasonal increase, resulting in an appreciation of the product compared to oil”, explained the company.
