Furlan enacts laws that guarantee tax advantages to taxpayers in Macapá – News of Brazil

This Tuesday (20) the mayor of Macapá, doctor furlan, sanctioned two laws that guarantee advantages to taxpayers in the capital. The measures aim to encourage the request for invoices, with a direct impact on the reduction of IPTU, and the second guarantees conditions for settling debts with the municipality.
Law No. 2.668/2023-PMM Nota Macapá provides for the granting of tax credits and drawing of prizes. The law will award cash prizes and a discount on IPTU to individuals who request a service invoice. The objective is to encourage the request for grades, mainly from service providers.
“We are not inventing the wheel, we are following cities where the project worked very well. With the Nota Macapá Program, the winner is the taxpayer and the City Hall, which is able to continue with the structuring works, benefiting the entire population”, commented the head of the municipal executive, Dr. Furlan.
The Nota Macapá Program will have 4 editions and all the functioning will be publicized through campaigns in the social networks of the Municipality of Macapá.
The second law, nº 2.667/2023-PMM, also signed by the manager, deals with the transaction of tax and non-tax credits of the municipality of Macapá, and has as its target audience people who are in tax foreclosure in court. The law will make payment conditions possible, for example: reduction of interest, fines, installments for the debtor taxpayer, making him in compliance with the municipality.
“We are going to make it easier for taxpayers to solve their problems without going into debt. This is how we want to continue working, with fiscal efficiency and austerity so that these people have the opportunity to negotiate and regularize their situation”concluded the mayor.
The laws also represent the possibility for the municipality to transact tax credits from processes that are running in court.
“With the legislation, we will be able, through an agreement between the City Hall and TJAP, to organize a week of joint effort for taxpayers who are in tax foreclosure to be able to settle their debts with the PMM and increase collection”explained the Undersecretary of Revenue, Elcides Vales.
