Fundação Casa employees announce strike for Wednesday (3) – 05/01/2023 – Panel

Employees of Fundação Casa, of the government of São Paulo, announced that they will go on strike at midnight next Wednesday (3). Employees, represented by Sitsesp (Syndicato da Socioeducação de SP), claim salary readjustment, greater safety in the work environment and professional development.

The class was against the 5.75% increase announced by the Tarcísio de Freitas administration (Republicanos-SP), a value below the inflationary replacement of 6.70%.

“We will have to go on strike. Our work environment is not safe”, says Claudia Maria, president of the union. “If you don’t value the professional, he can’t stand to stay within the system and he gets sick, especially with a medical plan that will suffer a high increase”, she says.

The union was also concerned about the closure of socio-educational centers. In April, the suspension of activities at the Raposo Tavares Complex, which integrates the Nova Aroeira and Ipê centers, was announced.

Sitsesp requested an application, through state deputy Teonilio Barba (PT-SP), to ask for explanations about the closures and whether new institutions are expected to have suspended activities. The information is contained in the Official Gazette published on April 28.

According to Fundação Casa, the movement to close centers has nothing to do with the strike. The entity justifies the closure of Raposo Tavares by the low demand of teenagers. Servers working at the Nova Aroeira and Ipê units were transferred to centers in Osasco, Jardim Luiz and Vila Maria.

This Tuesday (2), the union and the government will meet at the Civil House, at 2 pm. The President of Fundação Casa, João Veríssimo Fernandes, and the Secretary of Justice and Citizenship, Luiz Antonio Guimarães Marrey, will be present.

In a note, the Secretariat of Justice and Citizenship, through the Casa Foundation, states that, between 2018 and 2022, the institution granted an 18.9% readjustment for civil servants, including benefits of meal vouchers, daycare assistance and funeral. Food vouchers increased by 45.4% in the same period.

“The Secretariat of Justice and Citizenship, through Fundação Casa, clarifies that the Government of the State of São Paulo offered 5.75% of salary adjustment, including on benefits (meal vouchers, food vouchers, day care and funeral assistance), to civil servants.

The proposal was rejected, in an assembly, on April 29th. The Institution reinforces that, since the beginning of the salary campaign, in March of this year, it has been dialoguing with representatives of civil servants and the Union of Workers in Public Foundations for Socio-Educational Assistance to Adolescents Deprived of Liberty in the State of São Paulo (Sitsesp).

The Regional Labor Court granted, yesterday (05/30), an injunction that obliges the permanence of 70% of the civil servants, from each area of ​​activity (Socio-educational and Operational Support Agent, Educational Agent, Social Worker, Psychologist, Nurse, Nursing, Pedagogue and Physical Education Teacher), to ensure the implementation of the socio-educational measure throughout the State of São Paulo. If the court order relating to the employment of 70% of public servants in activities is not complied with, Sitsesp will be fined R$200,000 per day.

It is worth noting that, between 2018 and 2022, Fundação Casa granted an 18.91% readjustment to civil servants, including the benefits of meal vouchers, daycare assistance and funeral assistance. Food vouchers, in turn, increased by 45.42% in the same period.”
