Fulham formalizes proposal of R$ 111 million for André; Fluminense announces that it will not sell it

Fulham, from England, is interested in signing another promising midfielder from Brazil. After Danilo left Palmeiras for Nottingham Forest and João Gomes left Flamengo for Wolverhampton, the English formalized a proposal of 20 million euros (about R$ 111 million) for André, from Fluminense. However, he will have to make the tricolor change his mind about selling him, something that is seen as out of the question at this point.

The formalization of the proposal was delivered to André’s agents this Friday, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano and confirmed by EXTRA. The steering wheel staff is in England to hear the terms presented by Fulham. If approved, it will be delivered to Fluminense.

The new proposal from the English is a loan with an obligation to buy and only for the middle of the year, as Fulham cannot sign players due to financial fair play.

However, EXTRA found that Fluminense’s position is still not to sell André even if the new proposal arrives in the hands of the club. The fact that the steering wheel is not on the market has already been communicated to the British. So much so that, when Fulham carried out the first poll, a counter-proposal was not even thought of.

President of Fluminense, Mário Bittencourt was asked about a possible departure of André and stated that the midfielder will not leave the club in 2023.

– We have an agreement with him that in 2023 he will stay here to play for Libertadores and at the end of 2023 we will evaluate whether interesting proposals will arrive for Fluminense, for him. But for sure during 2023 André will not be sold and will stay with us throughout the year – he said.

The midfielder also spoke on the subject after the 1-1 draw with Boavista, last Thursday. He revealed that he is focused on Fluminense to fulfill his contract but confirmed that he received a proposal to transfer.

– Obviously I’m focused and very happy, I just renewed my contract until 2026. That’s what matters. It’s normal to get a proposal. Even because our team ended the season well. Not just for me, but it must have been enough for Cano, Arias and everyone who ended up on a high. I’m focused here on Fluminense and that it’s an excellent season.

Last Friday, Carlos Leite, André’s manager, published a message on social media and recalled that André and his wife just had a child and the player is not thinking of going to Europe.

The 21-year-old midfielder has a contract with Fluminense until December 2026. The tricolor holds 100% of his economic rights.
