The Parliamentary Entrepreneurship Front (FPE) will advise its members to vote to overturn President Lula’s (PT) vetoes on the complementary law that creates the new fiscal framework.
The FPE brings together 206 deputies and 46 senators. A session of the National Congress to deliberate on presidential vetoes is scheduled to take place on Thursday (26).
When sanctioning the law, on August 31, Lula vetoed two sections of the text. One of the vetoes will give the government more flexibility to block investment. The other vetoed item prohibited the government from providing in the LDO (Budget Guidelines Law) the exclusion of expenses from the primary result.
“This was a project agreed with the Legislature and the Executive cannot keep breaking agreements. Nothing was done by force, nothing was imposed. The president only vetoed what makes it difficult for the government to meet goals and the government needs to meet goals”, says the president from FPE, Joaquim Passarinho (PL-PA).
“This legal security that is talked about so much and no one wants to fulfill. Legal security is something important that we can have and respect so that an economy can effectively have some kind of long-term survival conditions in this country”, he added.
