Manaus (AM) – With a focus on offering vocational technical courses, the “From School to Work” project transforms the daily lives of high school students from public schools in Amazonas. So far, more than a thousand students, divided into 52 classes, have benefited. At the end of the last year of school, the student receives double certification and experience to enter the job market.
The courses available are Human Resources, Computer Networks, Marketing, Information Technology, Graphic Computing, Systems Development, Information Technology Support and Maintenance, Aesthetics and Internet Information Technology, in 18 schools in the state education network, with after-hours courses, within the school space.
The project coordinator, Allyson Lopes, highlighted the advantages obtained by the students when they have contact with the job market from an early age.
“The advantage is that students leave high school knowing what they want to do. He enters as a teenager, full of doubts, but leaves as a professional who is very well prepared for the job market, with the knowledge acquired through technical courses”,
highlighted the coordinator.
In the Midwest Zone of Manaus, in the Redenção neighborhood, the Maria da Luz Calderaro State School stands out with the technical courses offered. The professor of Computer Networks at the institution, Aslon Kallel, also argues that the change in the routine of students on the course, who previously had classes only in the morning, is positive.
“Students adapt very quickly to changes in routine, despite being a challenge to combine high school with Técnico. But they know that, with this, they have access to a curriculum that will prepare them for higher education”,
concluded the professor.
Beatriz Lopes, 18, a 3rd year high school student, moved from the interior of Pará to Amazonas three years ago. According to her, the prospects for the future were few, but since she started the technical course in Computer Networks, her life has changed. Recently, she was accepted as a minor apprentice in a company, which considered her course as a differential.
“I applied for the selection process and in the final phase I had to show computer skills, which I already had with the technical course. I researched beforehand and found that the job market is more advantageous for this area. I even want to study Computer Engineering”,
said the student.
Another student who will pursue a career in computing after high school is Josué de Souza, 17, a 3rd year high school student.
“My routine before was different and now it’s totally different, but it’s great to come here and take classes with the best teachers. In the future I want to enroll in other courses related to what I do here”,
he said.
