France’s Sports Minister, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, sees “frustration” in the declarations of Neymar in which the Brazilian striker tells that both he and his teammate at the time, the Argentine Lionel Messilived a “hell” in the Paris Saint-Germain.
Asked this Monday in an interview with the French station “Sud Radio” about Neymar’s words, Oudéa-Castéra pointed out that he interprets them in the sense that these “two exceptional champions” are “unhappy” with their time at the club in the French capital.
Specifically, he explained, they are “frustrated at not having shone more in Paris, especially in the Champions League”.
Therefore, she believes that behind what Neymar said there is “the frustration of a champion”.
Neymar arrived in Paris in 2017 as the most expensive signing in the history of football, 222 million euros, but during those six seasons, PSG, owned by the sovereign fund of Qatar, failed to achieve what has been its main objective, to win the Europe Champions League.
A goal that was also not achieved with the signing of Messi in 2021, coming as the Brazilian from Barcelona, where he spent practically his entire professional career, full of triumphs.
In an interview released yesterday on “Rede Globo”, Neymar said that both he and Messi “lived hell” in Paris. The reason is that “we are not there for nothing, we are there to do our best, to be champions, to try to make history, that’s why we came back to play together, we got together there so that we could make history. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it.”
