The Port Authority of Santos (APS) published and revoked within a day an ordinance that affected the main pension plan for workers in the sector.
Minister Márcio França (Ports and Airports) intervened in the case on the grounds of preserving the contributions of the port of São Paulo to the Portus system. After the determination, the president of the APS, Fernando Biral, withdrew from the measure.
The first ordinance, on Thursday (19), created a working group to study the departure of the APS from managing Portus. In practice, the decision called into question transfers from the unit to the general benefit fund, which could affect the retirement of 10,000 port workers.
The following day, Friday (20), the repeal of the act was published. Biral, who was already in office before the minister took office, should be replaced. The holder of the port area in the Lula government (PT) is against the concession of the port of Santos, defended by Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).
