It has barely begun and the 21st century is already beginning to show that it will be very different from the previous ones. Of course, this mutation is part of nature, as human society has experienced extremely radical changes in the past two centuries.
In the 19th century, industrialization began, with gigantic deforestation, uncontrolled use of natural resources and the beginning of pollution. Now, the planet has presented the bill with the immense climatic transformations, in addition to the inevitable wars and revolutions that mark the tragic history of humanity.
In the 20th century, the standard of living improved with the great inventions that facilitated transportation, communication, teaching and, above all, health, with an impressive evolution in medicine, dentistry and medicines. But, the pollution, wars and revolutions continued.
Now, warlike confrontations and inhumane acts continue, as well as intense debate on rights and social equality. How could it not be, our daily football lives an intense process of transformation.
While there is discussion in Brazil about the creation of a National Club League to get rid of the CBF’s incompetence and bad deeds, in Europe, the Superliga tries to resurface. As it should be, there is a deep division here, so much so that there are two Leagues facing each other in what may represent the greatest division in the history of Brazilian football.
Launched three years ago, the first version of the European Super League was so controversial that it didn’t even last a week. All because it was considered to establish an exclusive club for the richest clubs with a parallel competition to compete with the Champions League.
There were protests from all sides: fans, commentators, coaches and players disapproved of the proposal. And Fifa and Uefa threatened to ban clubs and athletes. The idea went on the shelf, but it reappeared with greater intensity and with real possibilities of becoming a reality.
As here, there too the clubs no longer accept the excesses of Uefa and Fifa.
