THE Sheet publishes, starting this Sunday (29), reports produced based on public documents compiled by the newspaper and made available on the Pinpoint tool. The publication of these files takes place in partnership with Google.
There will be four collections of documents.
The first, with 161 documents, is available for consultation in the tool that makes it possible to explore and analyze large volumes of information. These are files related to two agreements signed between non-profit entities, municipal consortia and the Ministry of Citizenship during the Jair Bolsonaro administration.
Another three collections will be made available by Sheet In the next months. In total, there will be more than 1,200 documents.
From this archive base, journalists from Sheet produced the report “Poor families are deceived and pay to receive cisterns under Bolsonaro”, Also published this Sunday.
Pinpoint is a Google tool that makes it possible to analyze thousands of documents in an agile way due to the filters that organize in lists all the names of people, organizations and places found in the PDFs.
The system also allows you to convert audio files into text. The documents with the transcripts are editable and include timestamps for each of the speeches.
Other vehicles, such as Piauí magazine and The Washington Post newspaper, also made collections of documents of public interest available on Pinpoint.
The Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji) was the first Brazilian organization to publish sets of documents in the tool.
The most recent publication was from Ficam Sabendo, an independent data agency, which made the invoices for spending on Jair Bolsonaro’s corporate card available.
