Folha organizes event about Lula government and the environment – 05/10/2023 – Folha Seminars

A Sheet will organize, next Monday afternoon (15), an online seminar on the challenges of the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in the creation of public policies to reduce deforestation and encourage a more sustainable economic model for the country.
The event will be attended by the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva (Rede). She will be part of the first debate table, which will discuss the measures adopted so far by the federal government and its promises in the area.
The first table will also include the socio-environmental director of BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development), Tereza Campello; the executive secretary of the Climate Observatory, Marcio Astrini; and the legal adviser of Apib (Articulation of the Indigenous Peoples of Brazil), Mauricio Terena. The table will start at 3 pm.
Then, four other panelists will talk about bioeconomy and the necessary measures to promote an economic model that does not induce deforestation.
The national secretary for Traditional Peoples and Communities and Sustainable Rural Development, Edel Moraes; the governor of Pará and president of the Legal Amazon Consortium, Helder Barbalho; biodiversity specialist from the Instituto Socioambiental, Nurit Bensusan; and the CEO of AMAZ, accelerator of impact businesses in the Amazon, Mariano Cenamo. The second table will start at 4:20 pm.
It is not necessary to register to attend the event. There will be a live transmission of the entire seminar on this page and on the TV Folha channel on Youtube. The public will also be able to participate online, by sending questions and comments via WhatsApp, at the number (11) 99648-3478.
The event is supported by the Open Society Foundations and will be mediated by journalists Cristiane Fontes and Marcelo Leite.
