Folha gives free digital subscription for 2 months to women – 05/03/2023 – Market

A Sheet, in partnership with RME (Rede Mulher Empreendedora), launches this Monday (6) a special offer for women. There are two months of free subscription and another six with a 67% discount, which means a monthly fee of just R$9.90.

The subscription allows unlimited access to the website and application, with all the content produced by the newspaper, including reports, columns, blogs, podcasts, analyzes and exclusive newsletters.

To subscribe, simply access the Special Women page (folha.com/assinaturamulher) and fill out a brief registration form. One signature per CPF is allowed. Important to remember that the subscription can be canceled at any time.

In the columns and blogs team, there are more than 60 columnists and bloggers, who write about the economy, science, environment and deforestation, inclusion, racism, mental health, sex, public safety and motherhood, among other topics.

For Ana Fontes, founder and CEO of RME, a network that will publicize the action in all its communication channels, access to qualified content will give its members (more than 1.5 million women) the possibility of obtaining more knowledge.

“In Brazil, half of the small businesses are led by women, and 40% of them support their families with that income. So, a promotion like this enables many to subscribe to a newspaper and, with qualified information, to increase the chances of their business giving right.”

The reader market and digital strategies director at SheetAnderson Demian, says that the partnership with RME is fundamental, as it is an institution that defends the participation of women in the labor market and in entrepreneurship.

“We intend to encourage the presence of more women among our readers. We believe that by consuming relevant content, women feel safe to defend what they think, make the best choices and take a stand”, she says.

Together with the new subscription modality Sheet it also launches editorial initiatives.

One of them is the Cuide-se newsletter. The newsletter will have news about healthy habits, well-being, science and prevention for a more balanced life. The edition will be sent every Monday, from the 13th.

The newsletter is signed by the reporter Ana Bottallo, who writes about health and science in Sheet since 2020. Biologist, she has a master’s degree in zoology and a doctorate in paleontology from the University of São Paulo and the Natural History Museum of Paris (France).

Writer Tati Bernardi, in turn, is making two debuts: a new edition of her podcast and another column. On Friday, the first text of O Pior da Semana will be released, in which she will turn one or more unusual questions from readers into a chronicle (see here how to send your question).

On the same day, the sixth season of the Meu Inconsciente Coletivo podcast begins, one of the audio successes of Sheet. She talks to psychoanalysts about topics such as anger, lies, envy and, among others, the difficulty of being a feminist all the time.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

The novelties complement a list of initiatives of the Sheet to bring more diversity and equity to its journalism and to the newsroom.

One of them is the Readers Project. It brings together women in conversation circles via WhatsApp around news topics or topics of interest to the group, such as politics, structural racism and aging.

From February to December last year, 106 women, among the 140 enrolled, participated in at least one of the 19 rounds. For 2023, the creation of a permanent community of readers on WhatsApp is planned, with interest groups divided by themes, and campaigns with the objective of making the profile of the participants more heterogeneous. Another project focused on increasing the presence of women in its pages is Voz Delas, which started operating in 2023. It took a year of work to analyze all the newspaper’s publications since 2018 and understand how many and which women were heard as specialists in your areas.

From there, knowing the gender statistics of the interviewees, the objective is to increase the number of women heard in the reports. Journalists will receive data on how many women were interviewed and suggestions for names by area of ​​expertise.

All this occurs in the wake of a Sheet having become the first newspaper in Brazil with a diversity section, today led by journalist Flavia Lima. From there, other internal diversity initiatives were born, such as the implementation of a trainee aimed exclusively at black professionals and the creation of the Inclusion and Equity Committee.

Formed since 2022 by a group of 17 journalists, the committee operates inside and outside the newspaper’s editorial areas with the aim of suggesting and developing projects that make Folha more inclusive and equitable when it comes to race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation. , class and people with disabilities.
