First Amazon Stand Up Paddle championship will take place this coming Saturday

Manaus (AM) – After 10 years of creation of the Stand Up Paddle Federation of Amazonas, and with great expectation and enthusiasm, the 1st Amazon Stand Up Paddle Championship (SUP Race 2023) will be held in Manaus, an event that promises to move the waters and hearts around the love of sport.

The competition will take place next Saturday (05/08), at Pousada Paraíso Tarumã, with departure scheduled for 7 am, where the ray of sunshine will be the kickoff for the exciting disputes of the day.

The event will be particularly special due to the participation of indigenous people who are part of the Goal Olímpica project. This project, which encourages the practice of sport by young people and indigenous adults, who live in riverside communities of the capital of Amazonas.

According to the president of the Amazonas Stand Up Paddle Federation (FESUPAM), Pablo Casado, Amazonas has many athletes who can take the name of the state to other levels in this sport.

“We are training a generation of indigenous athletes and our goal is for these athletes to be able to take the name of Amazonas to new heights, standing out in national competitions”,

Pablo explained

According to him, these indigenous athletes are about to face an even greater challenge, representing our region in the Brazilian SUP Race Championship, which will also be held in Manaus, on October 20 and 21, 2023, by the Brazilian Confederation of Stand Up Paddle – CBSUP.

“This is a valuable opportunity for us to celebrate the mix of tradition and diversity in our region, in addition to highlighting the talent and strength of these athletes who are a source of pride for our land”,

evaluated Paul.

“There is no doubt that with the holding of the Amazonense SUP Race Championship, the skill and passion for the sport will be brought to the fore. We are looking forward to living this experience together. I want to take advantage of this and invite everyone to come and honor this sports festival and dream together with our athletes”,

enthusiastically invited the president of the Stand Up Paddle Federation of Amazonia.
