The president of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of the Financial Pyramids, deputy Aureo Ribeiro (Solidariedade-RJ), asked the Justice this Wednesday (30) for the coercive conduct of the partners of 123milhas. Entrepreneurs Ramiro Júlio Soares Madureira and Augusto Júlio Soares Madureira had been summoned to explain the suspension of travel packages.
However, the two did not attend the session. With that, they were recalled by the collegiate for the afternoon of this Wednesday (30), but did not respond to the request of the parliamentarians. The partners of 123milhas claimed, through a letter, that they could not attend the CPI this afternoon because they had a meeting scheduled at the same time at the Ministry of Tourism.
The president of the CPI asked the Justice that the entire board of the company be present at the session on September 6, at 10 am, to provide clarifications. Ribeiro said that, given the new absence of those summoned, he will adopt the appropriate measures, including a request for preventive detention of the partners, informed the Chamber Agency.
Ramiro and Augusto’s defense stated that a new date could be scheduled from September 4, with the businessmen’s commitment to attend. The company’s partners called the Federal Supreme Court (STF) requesting authorization to miss the session. However, Minister Carmen Lúcia determined this Monday (28) that they are required to attend the Financial Pyramids CPI, but may remain silent on questions that may incriminate them.
On the last 18th, the company suspended the issuance of tickets and packages of the “promo line”, with flexible dates, with departure forecast from September to December 2023. The agency offered customers the return of amounts through vouchers as an alternative plus monetary correction of 150% of the CDI to be used in the purchase of any tickets, hotels and packages at the company.
After announcing the initiative, 123milhas became the target of Procon in São Paulo, the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon), linked to the Ministry of Justice, and the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais.
