Fight enthusiast, LBV celebrates anniversary of its Educational Center

Enthusiast of martial arts as a tool for education and consequent social transformation, the Legião da Boa Vontade celebrated, on the last 2nd, the 27th anniversary of its Educational Center, located in Del Castilho, in the north zone of Rio, and the 82nd anniversary of its president, journalist and educator José de Paiva Netto.

Authorities were present at the celebration, including the municipal secretary of human rights and security Ruy França; artists, athletes, black belts and jiu-jitsu and wrestling teachers, and athletes assisted by social projects supported by the LBV in partnership with Super Rádio Brasil 940 AM, Prime Esportes and Boomboxe, which takes martial arts teachings to young people from communities.

“For the LBV, educating is an act of love and enables the development of children and young people, in addition to providing the opportunity to improve both skills and citizenship. The Institution believes in the power of education and promotes several solidary actions aimed at encouraging studies” , says a statement sent to the press.

During the event, the Commander of Social Projects of the UPP delivered a plaque in honor of President José de Paiva Netto in gratitude for the support that the institution gives to the UPP Generation Project, which is reverted in actions dedicated to sport and social support to the regions served .

In addition, an action was confirmed with the Military Fire Brigade of the State of Rio de Janeiro to teach first aid lessons for drowning on the beach to students of the Generation UPP project and the installation of a dojo for the practice of martial arts focused on defense staff within the Municipal Civil Guard of Cabo Frio who will serve students from the municipal network.
