Brazil faces Italy, Nigeria and Dominican Republic in the 1st phase
The Brazilian under-20 men’s soccer team met this Friday (21) its opponents in the group stage of the World Cup in the category. In a draw held by Fifa in Zurich (Switzerland) it was decided that Brazil will face Italy, Nigeria and the Dominican Republic in the first stage of the competition (which will be played between May 20 and June 11 in Argentina).
The debut of the national team in the competition will be against Squadra Azzurra, on a date yet to be defined by the International Football Federation (FIFA). Brazil has won the under-20 World Cup five times: 1983, 1985, 1993, 2003 and 2011.
Coach Ramon Menezes will call up the players who will defend the Brazilian national team in the competition on April 28th. May 8th is the date set for the team to show up at Granja Comary to start their preparation.
Brazil arrives at the competition in a positive moment, after undefeated winning the title of the South American sub-20 that was disputed in Colombia.
