Consultative councils that have disclosed support for the president of Fiesp (Federation of Industries of São Paulo), Josué Gomes, are in legal limbo, as their members have been without a mandate since the end of December, amid the political dispute that split the entity.
The Superior Council for Economics, the Superior Legal Council and the Superior Council for the Creative Economy are in this situation, which signed communiqués repudiating the attempts to remove Josué from the presidency of Fiesp.
The mandates of various councils, supply chain committees and boards are annual and expire on December 31st. Usually, they are renewed for the following year after the collective vacation from December to January.
On December 1, Josué sent a message to some entities that indicate members to the councils. In the text, he recalled that the term of office ended on December 31 and asked for suggestions of names to join the councils in 2023.
“To facilitate the procedures, thank you for sending your name suggestions until the 16th of this month [dezembro]making myself available for any other proposals in favor of strengthening the industry”, indicates the message sent.
With the political fight at Fiesp, the new councils were not installed and, officially, they do not exist.
