Fies: Registration for remaining vacancies ends this Thursday – 11/29/2023 – Education

The registration period for the selection process for the remaining places in Fies (Student Financing Fund), which offers places for students to finance their studies in undergraduate courses at private institutions that are participants in the program, ends this Thursday (30).
Registration is free and must be done exclusively online, on the Single Access Portal to Higher Education.
The results of the pre-selection in a single call and the waiting list will be released next Monday, December 4th. Selected students must attend the educational institution to verify their registration information between December 5th and 7th.
According to Fies regulations, all students with active enrollment and regularly studying the same course, shift and location at the educational institution participating in Fies can enroll in the program. In addition, students must meet the other requirements of the program, such as having a gross monthly family income per capita of up to three minimum wages (R$3,960).
Whoever is selected will be able to contract financing starting in July 2023. In other words, with Fies Vagas Remanescentes, the entire second half of 2023 can be financed, even for those who are not in default at the educational institution. In this case, the student can even recover amounts already paid during this period, if they prefer.
According to the MEC (Ministry of Education), around 60 thousand vacancies are offered with the resumption of Fies Vagas Remanescentes, which had been interrupted since 2021.
Applicants will be selected according to the classification of their grades in the Enem (National High School Exam). Enem editions from 2010 onwards will be considered. The minimum grade required is 450 points on the average of the five exam tests, as well as a grade above zero in the essay.
What are the Fies classification criteria?
- Partial scholarship holders (50%) from Prouni (University for All Program) are first on the priority list of the classification criteria for the remaining Fies vacancies, as long as they do not have a degree and have not been Fies beneficiaries;
- In second place are students who do not have an undergraduate degree and have never benefited from Fies;
- Third are those who do not have an undergraduate degree, but who have already benefited from Fies at another time, having paid off the financing;
- In fourth place are students with an undergraduate degree, but who have never had a contract with Fies;
- Lastly, there are students with an undergraduate degree and Fies beneficiaries who managed to pay off the financing for their course.
