Festival presents arts projected on facades in Manaus

Manaus (AM) – Manaus is preparing to host the 1st Mappinguari – Extremo Norte Video Mapping Festival, one of the most anticipated events of the year in the artistic and cultural scene. The festival promises to delight the public with an incredible video mapping experience and highlight works by artists from the far north of the country.

The program includes an artistic video mapping exhibition on Saturday (11) from 7pm to 10pm on the facade of Shopping Phelippe Daou.

The 1st Mappinguari – Extremo Norte Video Mapping Festival is a true dive into the art of video mapping, a technique that combines audiovisual projections on facades and architectural structures, transforming urban spaces into true projection screens. During the festival, the public will have the opportunity to contemplate works that explore originality, creativity, innovation, technique, script, structure and volumetric and architectural cohesion with the selected facades.

Roberto Fernandes, proponent and executive producer of the project, says that he is immensely optimistic with the actions and results generated from the festival.

The 1st Mappinguari – Extremo Norte Video Mapping Festival aims to promote the appreciation of regional and local culture, and this year, several areas of Manaus will be covered with public exhibitions. It will be a unique opportunity for residents of each area to experience art in an accessible and inclusive way, transforming the city into an open-air gallery.

The central theme of this edition is “Amazon, Education, Urbanity, Right to the City”. The artists were challenged to create works that take into account the location of projection, seeking to draw attention to the axes of art, culture and society. 3 finalist works from the SHORT category and 3 finalist works from the 1FRAME category will be selected, which will be designed, registered and awarded during the festival.

In addition to the projections, the 1st Mappinguari – Extremo Norte Video Mapping Festival has a diverse program, including workshops, exhibitions and artistic performances. The festival is a unique opportunity for artists, students, professionals in the field and enthusiasts of immersive art and video mapping to share knowledge, experiences and experience a memorable cultural immersion.
