The wife of Finance Minister Fernando Haddad, Ana Estela Haddad, was appointed on Thursday (26) to assume the position of secretary of Information and Digital Health, a post linked to the Ministry of Health. The ordinance with the nomination was published last night in an extra edition of the Official Gazette.

Haddad holds a degree in dentistry from the University of São Paulo (USP) and specialist in pediatric dentistry from the Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development of Dentistry (Fundecto), and is a professor at the Faculty of Dentistry at USP. She was also the manager of public policies related to education and health during Lula’s (PT) first two governments.

In addition to the wife of the Minister of Finance, among the secretaries chosen by the Minister of Health, Nísia Andrade, are other party members, four of whom made financial donations to Lula and other PT candidates during the 2022 election campaign.
