Fernando Diniz leads the 1st training session as coach of the Brazilian national team

Two months after being confirmed as the new coach of the Brazilian national team, Fernando Diniz finally commanded his first training at the head of the team. This Tuesday (5), in Belém, he led work with the ball on the lawn of the Mangueirão stadium, in Belém, where Brazil will debut in the South American Qualifiers of the 2026 World Cup.

Diniz still hasn’t had the full squad for his first training session with the national team. Striker Gabriel Jesus has yet to appear. He should arrive late in the evening. The last to arrive were defender Marquinhos and striker Raphinha. Coming from Europe, they had missed the connection in Portugal and performed directly at the stadium.

With 22 players at his disposal, Diniz led a training session on a reduced field. Even goalkeeper Ederson played on the line. Before that there was warm-up and a silly circle. The press could only follow the first 30 minutes of activity.

The coach has two more practices to define for the first time the starting lineup of the selection. On Wednesday and Thursday, the group will train at 5:30 pm, in Mangueirão.

Brazil’s first game in the Qualifiers will be this Friday (8), at 21:45 (Brasília time), against Bolivia, in Mangueirão. For the second round, the selection will face the Peruaway from home, in Lima, at 11 pm on Tuesday (12).
