Father Júlio Lancellotti, who has worked for a long time with homeless people, should be one of the nominees for the new Council, which President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) should install in April.
The idea is that the Council for Sustainable Economic and Social Development, the official name of the advisory body, has between 160 and 170 members and is formally subordinated to the Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha.
According to Padilha, the Conselhão should have representatives from different sectors, including those from the so-called digital economy, including companies that work through apps and online banks.
There will also be a wide representation of agribusiness and different religions. “We want a broad and representative council,” he declared.
