The Mallorca fan who called Vinícius Júnior a monkey in the game on February 5 received a fine of €4,000 (about R$22,000) and is banned from entering stadiums for 12 months. The information is contained in a brief note from the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport in Spain released this Tuesday (28).
DOUBLE PUNISHMENT AND RECIDENT
The Spanish Police had initially proposed a punishment of €3,000 and six months without entering stadiums, but the period was doubled by the State Commission and the fine increased by €1,000.
The 20-year-old fan was again caught hurling racist insults at a Villarreal player 13 days later. He will suffer a second sanction, according to the Spanish newspaper As.
FAN HAS ALREADY BEEN EXPELLED FROM THE CLUB
Mallorca announced at the beginning of the month that they expelled the fan who racistly insulted the Brazilian Vini Jr. and who, days later, also offended Villarreal’s Samu Chukwueze. Vini was called a “monkey” in the clash in Palma de Mallorca on February 5.
The “DAZN” channel caught the fan shouting at the attacker: “Vinicius, monkey! It’s a f*** monkey”.
