On the night of the last 26th, the athlete from Amapa, Faelly Vitória, contrary to the expectations of the majority of the public, defeated her opponent and got the belt and the title of the Jungle Fight competition, which took place in São Paulo.
With a fierce fight and the threat of being taken to the canvas, Faelly Vitória, remaining on her feet, managed to overcome her opponent’s attacks, so that at the end of the night she became the first champion from Amapa in the ‘strawweight’ category of the Jungle Fight.
Faelly Vitória is a native of Macapá, coming from a social project in the north of the capital, called ‘Knocking out drugs and ending violence’, and since her first contact with fights, in 2016, she already showed a natural talent.
At the age of 15, with only four months of training, he had his first fight. The expectation for the dispute that crowned her champion was good, as the training was carried out with a focus on the dispute that was worth the title.
“With my first defeat I learned that things are not always the way we want them to be. I was frustrated, but I didn’t let it get to me; I knew I would have another opportunity in the lower division, and right after that I received the opportunity to fight for the strawweight belt”recalls Faelly.
The belt in the straw category is the beginning of a career that aims at structuring and future achievements in bigger events. With that, the support of the family and coach Anderson Panda remains fundamental.
The responsibility of being the first woman to be part of a select group of champions in the state, inspires Faelly to pursue her goals, to train much harder and to be an example for the MMA girls from Amapá, who cultivate the same dream.
“Develop your wars, nothing comes with a kiss. Everything is part of demands from your masters, teachers, your family; do not be influenced by bad friendships. I see many talents straying from the path. Always look for the best. It can change your life and the lives of your family.”advises the athlete.
