During a session of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), this Wednesday (8), Minister Edson Fachin defended the appointment of a black woman to the position of Supreme Court Minister, as an option to replace the ministers who will retire from office. this year, like Ricardo Lewandowski, who will retire in May, and Rosa Weber, in October.

Fachin congratulated ministers Rosa Weber and Carmen Lúcia on Women’s Day, and mentioned a future minister. “I ask permission to greet a 4th minister, who, who knows, a place of the future will place in this plenary. A black woman”, declared Fachin.

Fachin’s speech was made at the opening of the section that judges “racial profiling” in police approaches in Brazil. The vote, which has 4 votes against the acquittal of a drug dealer approached for alleged racism, was postponed after minister Luiz Fux asked for more time for analysis.
