Shortly after the announcement made by Elon Musk this Thursday (11) that he hired a CEO for Twitter, the betting exchange on the future head of the social network began to work. The billionaire did not reveal the name of the contractor, and said she should take over in about six weeks.

“My role will shift to that of CEO and CTO [chief technology officer]overseeing product, software and system operations,” Musk said in a tweet.

According to The Wall Street Journal, NBCUniversal publicity chief Linda Yaccarino is in talks to take over.

Yaccarino, according to the American newspaper, has been at NBCUniversal for over ten years, where he was tasked with finding better ways to measure advertising effectiveness. The executive was also instrumental in launching the company’s streaming service, Peacock, not available in Brazil.

A spokesperson told the WSJ that Yaccarino is busy rehearsing for a presentation to the media conglomerate’s advertisers. NBCU is a subsidiary of Comcast, the largest communications company in the United States.

Sought by the Wall Street Journal, Twitter did not comment.

The Insider portal, in turn, claims that Twitter employees speak in another name for the position: Ella Irwin, who works in the Trust & Safety division of the platform.

Musk, who said in November that he hoped to reduce his time at Twitter and eventually find a new leader to run the company, has so far not revealed any potential candidates. In an interview with the BBC in April, he said that the social network is managed by his dog.

The billionaire’s first two weeks as Twitter’s new owner in October were marked by rapid change. He quickly fired then-Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and other senior leaders. In November, he laid off half of his staff.
