Event in Ceará projects Amazonian crafts into the international decoration market

During Fenacce, Business Roundtable presents work to representatives from 10 countries
Between September 26th and October 1st, 2023, the city of Fortaleza, in Ceará, will host the 5th edition of the National Crafts and Culture Fair, Fenacce. The event takes place at the Ceará Events Center and has the participation of artisans from 26 Brazilian states and the Federal District, consolidating itself as one of the largest Brazilian fairs in the sector. From Amazonas, artisans Walmir Garrido, Renata Sampaio, Maria Rocineide and the associations Teçume da Floresta and Copamart participate.
According to businesswoman Stella Pavan, creator of Fenacce, the event integrates different sectors of the economy, such as services, commerce and tourism.

For the second consecutive year, a partnership between the National Crafts Program (PAB), Sebrae Nacional and the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency – ApexBrasil, intensifies efforts to project Brazilian crafts on the international stage, especially in the decoration market . Through an International Business Round, works from approximately 60 artisans and craft communities must be presented to international buyers from countries such as China, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria, the USA, Japan and Jordan.

Export More Brazil
Launched by ApexBrasil in August 2023, the Exporta Mais Brasil program foresees the holding of 13 international business rounds, in 13 different states, focusing on 13 productive sectors of the Brazilian economy. Each round aims to stimulate exports in a different sector. To date, four rounds have been held focused on the furniture, ornamental rocks, coffee and fish sectors, generating around R$24 million in business between Brazilian entrepreneurs and foreign buyers.

According to the president of ApexBrasil, Jorge VianaBrazilian crafts have great potential for export. “In addition to valuing the know-how from different regions of the country, the segment brings the diversity of the use of raw materials and artisanal techniques that represent the vocation of each corner of Brazil. The segment also has a competitive advantage compared to international buyers, as it presents characteristics of sustainability, innovation and quality”concludes Viana.
