Manaus (AM) – The November edition of Serasa’s Default and Debt Renegotiation Map showed a reduction in the number of defaulting consumers in Brazil, after three consecutive months of growth. In total, 143.5 thousand people were removed from the negative list. And there are 71.81 million Brazilians in default.

Despite the good national result, Amazonas remains in fifth place among the states with the highest representation of the defaulting population, 52.15%. Rio de Janeiro (53.17%), Distrito Federal (52.79%), Amapá (52.74%), and Mato Grosso (52.59%) occupy first to fourth place, respectively.

Amazonas has more than 1.5 million people in default. As in the previous month, the largest volume of debts in Amazonas comes from the retail sector (27.52%), followed by card and bank debts (25.78%) and basic bills such as water, electricity and gas, called utilities. (16.27%).

Among the age groups, the biggest defaulters in Amazonas are between 26 and 40 years old (35.9%), followed by the population between 41 and 60 years old (35%), over 60 years old (15%) and people up to 25 years old (14.1%).

Phase 2 Feirão

To help consumers in default, Serasa is holding Phase 2 of Feirão Limpa Nome until December 22nd, with the opportunity to pay off debt for up to R$100.00.

In Amazonas, more than 2.3 million consumers can benefit from the action. In Phase 2, service is being provided online and at post offices.

Available for negotiation in Phase 2 of Feirão Serasa Limpa Nome are negative debts, being those accounts registered in credit bureaus’ default registers, and late debts, which are debts that no longer negatively affect the consumer, but continue to exist with the creditor company.
