The Minister of Communications, Juscelino Filho, published a video on social networks, this Monday (6), to defend himself against allegations of alleged irregular use of Brazilian Air Force (FAB) flights and daily rates paid by the Union for personal commitments. . The video was published before the meeting with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, on Monday afternoon.

In the publication, the minister says he was “victim of distorted attacks” and attributed the accusations to an “error in the system” of counting the daily rates, referring to the trip from Maranhão. He also denied that the trip to São Paulo would be for commitments with horses and reinforces that he used a Brazilian Air Force (FAB) plane because he was fulfilling an official agenda.

“Regarding daily rates, the system automatically generated [o pagamento] and included the weekend period in the trips. The technical area of the ministry found this in an administrative process and, as soon as I found out, I immediately returned the amounts”, explained the minister.

Juscelino also denied that he had omitted from the Superior Electoral Court an estate of around 2.2 million reais in race horses, but he did not detail because the statement is not on the TSE website. “I’ve always declared all my assets on my income tax return, including my horses. I want to make it clear: the IRS has always approved all my declarations, and the Electoral Court has also approved all my bills”, he declared.
