The edition brings the theme “Diversity”, with a wide program for different audiences
Manaus (AM) – The Encontro das Águas Series, promoted by the State Government, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, presents this week the ballet classics “Dom Quixote” and “Disquinhos”, with puppet theater and shadows for children. In addition, the show “Koyaanisqatsi” promises a unique experience for those who attend the show.
The season aims to promote culture and art, breaking out of the usual routine and reaching a greater number of viewers from different niches. According to Maestro Marcelo de Jesus, creator of the event, the series takes a step forward in its concept, which has always been to hold an unlikely meeting of artistic languages, and expands to be yet another tool for meeting people and ideas that reflect contemporaneity.
“We are all different, and that is exactly what we have in common. Art has been one of the mechanisms for encountering and exposing the diversity of humanity for many centuries. Above all, we are in a moment where we can look back and learn, and be whatever we want to be.”
highlights the master.

“Don Quixote” show
Starting this Wednesday (07/12), Teatro Amazonas will host the ballet show “Don Quixote”, which presents the classic inspired by the homonymous work by Miguel de Cervantes, at 8 pm. Like other great choreographies, the choreographic work was successful over time and was slightly modified with each re-assembly.
The show’s fundamental characteristic is its Hispanic traits, with its lively knights and sassy young ladies, which go completely against the policy of their country of origin, the Soviet Union. In addition to the 12th, the presentation takes place on the 14th, 15th and 16th of July. Tickets are on sale at the Theater box office and on the website shopingressos.com
“Koyaanisqatsi”
In a small performance by Marcelo de Jesus and Átila de Paula, with digital synthesizers and a choir of soloists, “Koyaanisqatsi” presents an intimate and unique experience, which mixes frenetic visuals and mesmerizing music, in addition to presenting the film that bears the name. The show takes place on 07/13 (Thursday), at 7 pm, at Casarão de Ideias, located at Rua Barroso, 279 – Centro. Tickets are on sale at the venue or via the link
“discs”
Aimed at children, the show “Disquinhos” brings a new version of the collection of sung children’s stories, released in 1960, on compact colored vinyl records.
The classical collection was part of the childhood of an entire generation and featured songs composed and adapted by João de Barros, with orchestration by maestro Radamés Gnatalli.
Accompanied by the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra, Cia de Teatro Metamorfose will interpret the stories in different languages, such as puppetry and shadow theatre. The presentation will take place on the 15th and 16th of July, at 11 am, at Teatro Amazonas. Tickets are on sale at the Theater box office and at shopingressos.com.
