Businessman Elon Musk reacted to a message posted by federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), on Tuesday (25), about the vote on the urgent request for the consideration of the Fake News Bill, approved by parliamentarians on the same day .

Ferreira made a post on twitter quoting the businessman and saying that “Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies is about to kick social media platforms out of the country; freedom of expression is under severe attack. The Censorship Bill is sponsored by a member of the Communist Party; we cannot let Brazil become China”.

About eight hours later, the billionaire reacted with an exclamation, expressing a surprised reaction to the message. Musk acquired Twitter last year with a speech that it was necessary to expand freedom of expression on the social network.

The urgency regime of the Bill was approved by 238 to 192, and allows the text to be analyzed directly in plenary without going through the thematic committees.
