The NGOs Vetor Brasil and Instituto Gesto are expected to announce in the coming days the start of a merger process to create a new brand by 2024.

The institutions, which work with the improvement of education in the public sector and the formation of new leaders, should unify teams, programs, methodologies and objectives in the coming months.

The transition will be led by Joice Toyota, co-founder of Vetor, and Fernanda Patriota, executive director of Gesto.

NGOs are financed by institutions such as the Lemann Foundation, Instituto Natura, Itaú Social, VélezReys+ (by David Vélez, co-founder of Nubank) and Imaginable Futures, by Pierre Omidyar, founder of Ebay. Last year, MacKenzie Scott, ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, donated BRL 4.2 million to Vetor.

“The merger of NGOs is something unusual in Brazil but very common in other countries, such as the USA: a careful and gradual process of uniting teams, methodologies, projects and goals to be achieved. In the short term, both brands coexist and remain active leveraging all the recognition they have with governments, donors and leaders throughout Brazil”, said Joice Toyota, from Vetor.
