The governor of Rio Grande do Sul Eduardo Leite (PSDB) again lost access to his Twitter account this Tuesday morning (24). The profile picture, cover photo, account name and tweet talking about profile recovery have been deleted. In the profile location, Lebanon is listed as the country. This is the third time that Leite’s Twitter has been hijacked in a month.
Last Thursday (19), Leite had announced the recovery of the profile, after the account was hacked on January 10. For nine days, the governor stayed away from this, which is taken by himself as a channel for disseminating information and announcements relevant to the State.
When he regained access, he said that he had suffered a hacker attack and clarified that some tweets referring to the attack on Brasília on January 8 had been deleted and reiterated: “democracy will win”.
Earlier, on January 6, Leite reported the first invasion of his profile. At the time, he posted that he had recovered the account. “I resumed the Twitter account, which apparently had been ‘hijacked’ in an attempt to force us to buy an old internet domain that I once had, had expired and was previously registered with that account. We returned to ‘tweeting’ normally here ,” he wrote at the time. The governor again lost access to the account four days later.
Currently, Palácio Piratini is already working to recover access to the account linked to the @EduardoLeite_ arroba.
