The governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite (PSDB-RS), announced this Thursday (20) that he filed a lawsuit with the Public Ministry against former federal deputy Jean Wyllys (PT) for personal attacks when announcing the maintenance of the civic-military school program in the state, last week.
Leite says that Wyllys’ lines through a post on social networks, with criticism and allusion to his sexual orientation, are “prejudiced and discriminatory”. The former deputy classified the governor’s decision as “internalized homophobia”, with the development of a “libido and fetishes in relation to authoritarianism and uniforms”.
“When Jean Wyllys launches attacks on a decision I made as governor, which he may not agree with, he may have another view, but he tries to associate it with my sexual orientation and even sexual preferences, I must also file a representation against him”, he said in a video published on social networks (see in full) presenting the document filed on Wednesday (19).
He said that the decision to represent against Wyllys was not isolated and had also done so previously by homophobic statements by former federal deputy Roberto Jefferson (PTB) and by “bad jokes” by former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) on a visit to the state.
According to Eduardo Leite, Jean Wyllys’ statements are prejudiced, discriminatory and homophobic, and cannot be tolerated regardless of political orientation or the color of the flag.
Criticized even by the left for frequent hateful comments against political opponents, Jean Wyllys should be appointed in the coming weeks to occupy a position in the Secretary of Communication (Secom) of the Lula government (PT). The ex-deputy is expected to work in the area of communication planning for the PT government.
