Economist Michele Aracaty receives award in recognition of her contributions to AM

Manaus (AM) – Economist and PhD professor at the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam), Michele Lins Aracaty e Silva, received the “Building Amazonas” Award, given last Saturday (2) to personalities from the city. The ceremony honors and recognizes people who are helping to build the history of the region, whether in the areas of literature, art, culture, economy and supporting actions developed in favor of letters.

Researcher and also writer, Michele occupies chair number 71 at the Academy of Literature, Arts and Culture of the Amazon (Alaca), with vast works in the area of ​​regional development and Amazonian biodiversity. She received this honor in a ceremony in the auditorium of the Commerce Federation of the State of Amazonas (Fecomércio), on Rua São Luíz, 555 – Adrianópolis, Central-South Zone.

Creator of the award, journalist and writer Rômulo Sena, president of the Academy of Literature, Arts and Culture of the Amazon (Alaca), highlighted that tribute is a word that defines retribution of honor and gratitude for recognized actions and activities of great value. “We want to honor and make public the gratitude we have for several people in our region. People who help to build, in some way, the history of Amazonian culture, literature and art. And Professor Michele is one of those people who are contributing a lot to our Amazon.”

For Michele Aracaty, it is with great gratitude and joy that she receives this award, which is so representative in the context of literature and the Amazon.

“I receive the ‘Construindo o Amazonas’ award with great joy as it is an honor by nomination. I’m an economist, I’ve always wanted to be an economist and recognition for the “Economics” category makes me great as a professional. I thank the creator, Rômulo Sena, for the grandeur of the event. Being among those honored is an honor”, ​​declared the economist, who maintains her commitment to continue moving forward with her actions and mission in favor of regional development and the Amazonian peoples.

For the 2023 edition, personalities were honored, including professionals in the fields of culture, literature, culture, justice, economics, education, health, communication, among others.

About the honoree

Throughout her career, Michele Aracaty worked in the area of ​​economic consultancy and, as a teacher, supervised numerous undergraduate, postgraduate, master’s and doctoral studies, as well as Scientific Initiation and Extension projects.

He was vice-president of the Regional Economic Council (Corecon-AM), in 2021, with the mission of coordinating the XII Meeting of Economist Entities of the Legal Amazon (Enam). That same year, she was honored with the Economy Cross of Merit, from the Brazilian Chamber of Culture of Amazonas.

He is a member of the board of directors of the Brazilian Society of Economics, Administration and Rural Sociology (Sober). In 2022, he received the 22nd City of Manaus Award, and in August this year, he received the “Golden Feather” Award, given by the Academy of Literature, Arts and Culture of the Amazon (Alaca) to some personalities from the city, among its members “immortals”.
