Dutch team qualifies organization of the women’s amateur Cup – News of Brazil

The Netherlands have accused the Women’s World Cup of amateur organization by complaining about training conditions in New Zealand, but are still using the Bay Oval in Tauranga to prepare for their opening game next Sunday (23).
Coach Andries Jonker told reporters he feared his players could be injured on the pitch, which has a hard cricket pitch in the middle, and which the Dutch had asked for it to be scrapped months ago.
“When we arrived here on Wednesday I thought: ‘now what is this now?’. I’m not going to train on that.” said the coach about the cricket practice venue.
“We raised concerns about the cricket ground previously, we were promised things and now we are very disappointed and angry. We are not satisfied” Jonker said.
“We want to play a good first game against Portugal here. We want to have an elite preparation, an elite tournament and we also consider ourselves an elite team. It doesn’t fit. This falls under the highest level of amateurism.” declared.
The Dutch football association (KNVB) said it expressed concern to FIFA when it made two inspection visits and was promised that the hard pitch would be removed after the cricket season and when the Dutch arrived in New Zealand.
“If you land on your knee or shoulder you could have a problem. If you run from the grass to that field, that’s not good for the muscles and tendons that are already under tension.” Jonker concluded.
