Councilor Dudu Tavares, municipal president of the PDT, is working on the preparations for the next elections alongside the party’s pre-candidate for the management of Macapá, state deputy Jesus Pontes. Both talk about politics, even though they are aware of legal limitations.
“You just can’t ask for a vote and make a promise; the rest can”’, said Dudu in an interview with the Ponto de Encontro program (Diario FM 90.9) this Tuesday, 12th.
He spoke, among other things, about the current situation of the party he represents, in addition to recalling the PDT’s achievements and expressing his opinion on election results which, according to him, can sometimes surprise.
Regarding the organizational deadlines for the next elections, the councilor informed that candidates have until May of the following year to request a transfer and register for elections.
In April, the party window will be opened so that councilors can change parties without losing their mandate due to allegations of party infidelity.
Regarding his pre-candidacy, Jesus Pontes, who also participated in the radio program, saw his choice as a union of efforts by the party, according to him, “historic”, as it was the product of a consensus around a name.
As a mission for next year, Jesus wants to keep his allies together and conduct themselves well during the election period.
Regarding his party, councilor Dudu Tavares highlighted that it was the only group to govern the state for 16 years, and sees a pleasant future for his party, as in Macapá there are more than 5,700 members, and its biggest leader, minister Waldez Góes, has more than 30 years of PDT.
Regarding the previous electoral period, Dudu classified it as a “challenging election”, but saw the pedetistas take a “leap in quality”.
Regarding the party’s organization, clashes and the unpredictability of the elections, Dudu provoked: “We don’t wait for the election year to organize ourselves; I argue that the pre-campaign should be carried out a year in advance, as during this period the candidate gets to know each other. It is through the construction of consensus that reality changes; there is no such thing as a won election.”
Still on the heated periods of elections where old rivalries can resurface, Dudu recalled that it is necessary to recognize the potential of opponents and that in the world of politics it is also common for some “enemies”, in the future, to share the same platform.
“Every day is different. We have coalition strength on all sides who want the good of the population, who know well what the PDT has already done for the city of Macapá”, concluded Dudu.
