Dua Lipa shares details of her new album and talks about her love for Brazil: ‘sad that I didn’t go to Carnival’ British-Albanian singer-songwriter Dua Lipa has grown up and says she is now in the “season of transition”. Dua spoke to Fantástico and talked about her admiration for Brazil, her recent achievements in music and other projects she has been working on. At the age of 15, she left her parents’ home in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, to live in London, where she began publishing covers. She did everything well. In 2015, she signed her first contract and, today, she has been performing all over the world. Dua Lipa posts photos of a trip to Rio de Janeiro with her parents Earlier this month, she made the Grammy stage shake in Los Angeles (USA) and is preparing to release her third album. She says she has written 97 songs over the past three years to release this album, which marks her season of transition. Asked if she liked Brazil when she visited the country, she is direct in her answer: “I loved Brazil. I simply loved it.” “So my answer is a big yes. I’m very sad that I didn’t go to Carnival,” said Dua Lipa. “Any excuse I have to go to Brazil, I will. Brazil has a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to go back,” she added. New album “You’re not a girl anymore. You’re a woman now. Is it like the training season is over?” asked Fantástico. Dua responded: “I think my new album sees this transition in me from girl to woman. Each of the songs was rewritten a few times until I was like, ‘OK, it’s done now’. I feel like I’ve grown so much as a songwriter that I’m ready to really fight for every little detail.” Asked who she worked with that gave her those butterflies, Dua remembered Elton John. “I have pinch-me moments all the time, but working with Elton John was just unbelievable. I got to sing, perform with him and make music together,” she says. “It’s something that even now, as I’m saying this, gives me butterflies,” she added. Life outside of music Dua Lipa has other projects outside of music. Recently, she participated in the film “Argylle-The Superspy”, manages a website with chronicles and travel tips about the places she visited. She even has a podcast in which she talks to celebrities from all over the world and recently launched a book club. “I’m very organized. That’s been true since I was a child. I always had to make lists and write down everything I was going to do that day and plan, because it made me feel like I was in control and could accomplish as many things as I wanted during the day,” she says. About the book club, she says she loves reading and wants to encourage people to read more. “I think it’s really good to have a younger generation, perhaps, that follows me or likes listening to my music, to also see the importance of books and reading and immerse themselves in another story,” she concludes.
