Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) will have to undergo a new surgery on his intestine as soon as he returns to Brazil. The confirmation was made by doctor Antônio Luiz Macedo, who has been treating Bolsonaro since 2018, when the former president was stabbed during an election campaign act in Juiz de Fora (MG).

This would even be one of the reasons why Bolsonaro anticipates his return to the country. The statements were made by the doctor to the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo on Tuesday (24). A surgery in the United States would be discarded due to the high costs involved. Bolsonaro traveled to the country on December 30 last year.

On January 9 and 10, the former president was admitted to a hospital in Orlando (USA) after experiencing severe abdominal pain and underwent tests to find out if he had a new intestinal obstruction. Since suffering the attack in 2018, Bolsonaro has had several complications in the intestine and has undergone five surgeries and hospitalizations.
