Manaus (AM) — The Amazonas Gas Company (Cigás) reaches the mark of R$ 64 thousand in incentives granted to those included in the “Faça a Conta” campaign. Use CNG!” The initiative aims to expand the use of natural gas for vehicles (CNG), by encouraging the installation of CNG Kits in vehicles.

In this edition of the Campaign, 16 drivers have already been included, each of whom received R$4,000 in bonuses for installing the CNG Kit in their car, thus having CNG as an additional fuel alternative.

One of the campaign’s recipients is cosmetics sales consultant Maria Suely Silva. She highlights that the savings provided by natural gas for vehicles was the reason for opting to convert the car, which is used by her husband, who works as an app driver. “The car is in my name, but my husband uses it for work. We spent around R$150 per day to fuel the vehicle and, by opting for CNG, we realized savings of 40%”, she highlights.

To participate in the campaign, the driver must request authorization in accordance with the rules established by the State Department of Traffic of Amazonas (Detran-AM). Afterwards, the vehicle must be adapted at a workshop accredited by the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro). The car then undergoes inspection and inspection. After updating the Vehicle Licensing Registration Certificate (CRLV), interested parties must register for the campaign at gnv.cigas-am.com.br, where the regulations are also available with all the necessary guidance for interested parties.

CNG economy simulator

Cigás also makes available to the population a fuel economy simulator in digital calculator format, at gnv.cigas-am.com.br. The objective of the tool is to provide people with data on the monthly savings that vehicular natural gas (CNG) provides in relation to liquid fuels. Another important function is to inform the average return time on the investment made in adapting the car to use CNG as additional fuel.

App driver for six years, Ivaldo Martins, was another recipient of the campaign. He says he used the tool to obtain information about consumption, fuel price and vehicle performance. After obtaining this analysis of costs and savings, he realized that natural gas was more advantageous and decided to convert the vehicle and participate in the campaign. “The advantage of CNG in being more economical than other fuels and the campaign incentive, with the bonus worth R$4,000, were fundamental for me to be able to participate”, says the beneficiary.

The technical-commercial director of Cigás, Clovis Correia Junior, reinforces that CNG is an important ally in economic terms. “By opting for CNG, drivers reduce their fuel costs and also reduce wear and tear on their vehicle’s engines, in addition to guaranteeing more autonomy for the car”, he highlights.
