The former undersecretary of Intelligence at the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) of the Federal District, Marília Ferreira Alencar, said this Thursday (9) that the managers of the portfolio were warned in advance about the risks of popular mobilization for the protests on the 8th of January, which culminated in the invasion and depredation of the headquarters of the Three Powers in Brasília.
To the district deputies of the CPI opened in the Legislative Chamber of the DF, Marília said that all the information collected by her division was added to the Plan of Integral Action of policing of the Esplanada dos Ministérios. “What was received was received and passed on,” she said.
According to the former undersecretary, the intelligence reports showed the possibility of “alarming, although unconfirmed facts” of the protest evolving into a more serious scenario.
“On January 7th, we reported that there were demonstrators with exalted spirits and ready to confront the security forces. We warned about this several times”, said Marília, also reporting that information on the number of buses and participants and the displacement of the camp set up in front of the Army Headquarters to the Esplanada dos Ministérios was constantly updated.
At the end of the testimony, the president of the CPI, deputy Chico Vigilante (PT), stated that “there was a brutal failure on the part of the PM of the DF”, followed by the rapporteur, Hermeto (MDB), that “everyone was wrong, not just those who I was in the final activity, they made a mistake in intelligence, in planning, everyone”.
The CPI of the DF Chamber had the intention of hearing, also this Thursday (9), the former Secretary of Public Security, Anderson Torres, who is preventively arrested. However, he did not appear and a new statement was scheduled for the 16th, in a private session.
