Deputy Paulo Alexandre Barbosa (PSDB-SP) wants to extend the Reporto tax benefit for five years, the tax regime to encourage the modernization and expansion of the port structure scheduled to end at the end of 2023.
The parliamentarian is rapporteur at the CFT (Finance and Taxation Commission) of the project that extends the benefit to companies that perform port services in private use terminals and that expands the limits provided for in the Report for the importation of parts or spare parts.
Companies in the sector and the Parliamentary Front of Ports and Airports, chaired by Barbosa, defend the extension of the deadline to improve the competitiveness of port companies. According to him, the impact of the tax waiver would be R$ 500 million per year.
The Ministry of Ports and Airports expected to send a provisional measure by October to extend the Reporto.
