Manaus (AM) – State deputy Thiago Abrahim (União Brasil) presented Bill No. 473, which ensures visually impaired people the right to receive payment slips for monthly consumption of water and electricity in Braille or another accessible format.
“This project aims to protect the social integration of people with disabilities. It is important that the visually impaired have direct access to these accounts that are present in their daily lives and that they themselves can manage and have independence for this”,
Abraham said.
Still according to the matter, the administrative processes that have as a party or interested person with disability will have priority in processing within the scope of the State of Amazonas.
“The person interested in obtaining the benefit, attaching proof of their condition, must request it from the competent administrative authority to decide the feat, which will determine the measures to be followed”,
explained the deputy.
According to the justification of the bill in question, “given priority, the records will receive their own identification that evidences the priority processing regime”.
Also according to the document, “the priority procedure does not depend on approval by the competent administrative authority to decide the feat and must be immediately granted upon proof of beneficiary status”.
