Brasilia DF) – Federal deputy Saullo Vianna (União-AM) carried out an intense agenda in Brasília, this Wednesday (12), which included meetings with the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, and with the head of the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Goes .
In the Education portfolio, the deputy from Amazonas, who was accompanied by Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM) and the mayor of Parintins, Bi Garcia, sought support from the federal government for the installation of a Faculty of Medicine in the municipality of Baixo Amazon.
“We are looking for more investments for our Amazonas and, today, we started with visits to the Ministries of Education, where we plead for federal support for the installation of a university course in Parintins, a need that is not only of this municipality, but of all our state”
said Vianna.
With the Minister of Integration and Regional Development, the agenda addressed was the speeding up of recovery and containment works on the Parintins waterfront, which every year suffers from successive landslides in front of the city.
Amazonian Scientists Award
At the Planalto Palace, Saullo Vianna participated in the launching of the Investment Plan of the National Fund for the Development of Science and Technology (FNDCT) and the reactivation of the National Science and Technology Council.
On the occasion, president Luís Inácio Lula da Silva handed over the Merit Medals to Amazonian scientists, public health physician Adele Benzaken and infectologist Marcus Lacerda. Both had had their honor revoked by former President Jair Bolsonaro and, this time, they were awarded for the relevant services provided to public health in Amazonas and the country.
